Salt Marsh Photography

Salt marshes are of vital importance, not only to the UK’s depleted natural habitats, but for the variety of birds that visit each year and call it home.

The salt marshes form an essential ecosystem that provides food for arguably one of the largest food chains in the British Isles. This is true not only for the birds that call the salt marshes their home year round, but also the huge variety of birds that visit for breeding or on their journeys to and from warmer climbs.

On a recent visit to Tollesbury in Essex, we viewed a diverse range of animals braving the wind in search of a rest and feed. Although I wasn’t able to get a picture this time that did include a seal bobbing his head above the chop curious as to what we were up to.
